My journey into the world of short-term rentals began back in 2002 when my husband and I bought a beachfront apartment in the charming town of Boat Harbour, Port Stephens, NSW, Australia. We poured our hearts into furnishing it beautifully, thinking of every detail that makes a home away from home special—right down to the bed and bath linen, which was a rarity in those days. Initially, we listed it with a local agent, but after three months with no bookings during peak holiday season, I discovered the power of online marketing. That was the turning point, sparking my passion for curating beautiful, memorable spaces for guests.
Now, I get to host stunning properties for others, helping them achieve great success with their own beachside homes. Through By the Beach Getaways, I manage a portfolio of handpicked properties, marketing them across numerous booking platforms, including direct bookings, for maximum exposure and ease of access. I’ve hosted over 20,000 guests and earned thousands of 5-star reviews. The guest is always at the heart of what I do, and I take pride in delivering exceptional service—constantly finding new ways to surprise and delight.
